Community Partners

The Youth Employment Institute collaborates with various community agencies and businesses in the Portland metro region, including:

 

Casey Family Programs - Casey Family Programs' mission is to provide, improve, and ultimately prevent the need for foster care.

 

Catholic Charities – El Programa Hispano – Expansive social services for low-income Latinos in the Portland Metro area.
Child Care Resources and Referral - Metro -CCR&R Metro strives to work with all sectors of the community to promote quality child care.
City of Portland -Comprehensive list of city services and offices.
Bureau of Land Management -
The BLM's mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

Free Geek - As a non-profit community organization that recycles and refurbishes used technology, Free Geek happily provides computers, education, and job skills training to volunteers in exchange for their service.

 

Hoover Family Foundation - The mission of the Hoover Family Foundation is to support non-profit organizations that foster the development of individual self-sufficiency.
Insights Teen Parent Program - The mission of Insights Teen Parent Program is to create a climate of positive options for young families.

Kruse Way-Lake Oswego Rotary Club - Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.

 

Lifeworks Northwest - The Lifeworks mission is to promote a healthy community by providing quality and culturally responsive mental health and addiction services across the lifespan.
Multnomah Education Service District Regional educational services in Multnomah County.

Native American Youth & Family Center - The Native American Youth & Family Center's mission is to enhance the diverse strengths of our youth and families in partnership with the community through cultural identity and education.

 

Office of Neighborhood Involvement - Enhancing the quality of Portland's neighborhoods through community participation.

 

Oregon Community Foundation - OCF is the leader in Oregon philanthropy, involving thousands of citizens in efforts to improve our state.

Oregon Department of Human Services - The Department of Human Services (DHS) is the state's health and human services agency. The Department's mission is "helping people to become independent, healthy and safe."

 

Oregon Food Bank - Is the hub of a statewide network of 832 hunger-relief agencies serving all of Oregon and Clark County in Washington by recovering and distributing food from farms, government sources, manufacturers, retailers and individuals.

 

Oregon Humane Society - For 140 years OHS has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty and neglect, and working to build a caring, compassionate community.  The Youth and Community Group Volunteer Department provides corporate and community groups of up to 10 youth and 2 chaperones an exciting and rewarding one-time volunteer experience at the Oregon Humane Society.

Oregon State Parks - The mission of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is to provide and protect outstanding natural, scenic, cultural, historic and recreational sites for the enjoyment and education of present and future generations

 

Oregon Youth Authority - The mission of the OYA is to protect the public by holding youth offenders accountable and providing opportunities for reformation.
Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette - Since 1963, PPCW has provided a broad range of sexual and reproductive health care, family planning and other medical services; trained and educated community members on issues of sexuality; and advocated for the protection of reproductive rights and freedom in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Portland House of Umoja/Lifeworks NW - The House of Umoja is an internationally known organization that is dedicated to the positive development of youth, reducing violence and abusive behavior, providing interventions in negative behavior and improving the quality of life for economically disadvantaged urban male youth. The House of Umoja's mission is to save the lives of youth and families in distress.

Portland Community College - Portland Community College provides education in an atmosphere that encourages the full realization of each individual's potential.

 

Portland Public Schools  - Portland Public Schools is a PK-12 district with an enrollment of approximately 53,000 students. About 100 schools and 50 special needs sites are maintained within this district.

 

Portland State University - Portland State University's vision is to enhance recognition of the value of higher education by continually strengthening the metropolitan environment and utilizing that strength for its own growth toward standards of excellence in accessible high quality research, teaching and outreach programs.

 

Sabin Community Development Corporation Sabin Community Development Corporation's main goal is to provide tools, resources and knowledge to help make their neighborhoods better places to live and work, while maintaining cultural diversity. Sabin Community Development Corporation partners with the North/Northeast Business Association to open new Workforce Learning Lab in North/Northeast Portland.

Self Enhancement Inc - SEI is dedicated to guiding underserved youth to realize their full potential. Working with schools, families and community organizations, SEI provides opportunities for personal and academic success, bringing hope to individual young people and enhancing the quality of community life.

 

TriMet - provides public transportation in the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area, including most of Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties.

Urban League of Portland - The Urban League of Portland is one of the region's most respected social service and civil rights organizations. It is a nonprofit, community-based organization headquartered in north Portland and an affiliate of the National Urban League.

 

US Forest Service  - 100 years of caring for the land and serving people

Worksystems Inc. - Worksystems, Inc. (WSI) is a nonprofit organization that funds career placement and training services in the City of Portland, Multnomah and Washington Counties. Services are offered to youth through a network of One Stop Centers and community-based youth serving organizations.
